To Romance, With Love – A Cookbook Giveaway

by Lora Wiley-Lennartz

I received the cutest cookbook package in the mail a few weeks ago from an ex colleague of mine (we worked together on the Geraldo show) who is repping this cookbook. I just had to share it with you. This would be a more appropriate givaway for Valentine’s Day, but it’s such a sweet package I just couldn’t hold it until then.

As a TV producer, I have been on the receiving end of 100s of packages from PR people over the years containing all sorts of books and products. This one would have had serious consideration for a segment and not ended up on the huge pile beside my desk.  To Romance, With Love is a compilation of delicious recipes, love stories and tips for happy, long-lasting passion. It is a guide for men on how to romance their women through the kitchen.

To Romance, With Love features full-color photos of each meal, as well as accompanying side dishes and appetizers. The recipes are basic with an emphasis on Italian dishes. Nothing too fancy but the menu selections are well put together. Some examples are Tuscan Lamb Chops, Snapper Wellington with Dill Sauce and Ratatouille with Orzo.

The book also breaks down all of the ingredients for a stocked kitchen and pantry. Each recipe comes with a pullout menu and a separate shopping list that can be taken to the store.

The authors, former restaurant owners have been married for more than 26 years and have served as pre-marital advisors for dozens of South Florida couples.

The packaging is big, colorful and practical. The book is spiral bound and contains pockets that hold menu cards of complete meals. You can put the card in a plastic sleeve and safely take it into the kitchen to follow the recipe. No dripping liquids or flouring your cookbook.

Menu card from the book. Recipes are on the reverse side.

To Romance, With Love is divided into menus, not individual recipes. Each menu has a title that is the name of a love song. When strung all together, the menu titles create a music playlist for an evening of romance.

I am giving away a copy of the To Romance, With Love, along with an apron and tote bag. The book has no real dessert recipes, only suggestions. The authors are hoping you won’t make it to dessert and end up in the bedroom.

TO WIN the cookbook,  please leave your comment below by November 21st sharing your perfect romantic dessert idea. I will forward your suggestions to the authors. They will pick a winner which will be announced here on November 24th.

The book won in the romance catagory for the Premier Book Awards and is a Best Books award finalist for the USA Book News

Here’s an interview with Dave & Denise. They are just as passionate about keeping romance alive in their marriage as they are about cooking.  Yay for love!

I was fortunate to get a hold of this book and I can't wait to test out the recipes with my hubby. The best thing about this is it is easy to relate to, and you don't even have to be an expert cook – you just have to have a desire to tantilize your spouse and you COOK what's in the BOOK! Makes a wonderful gift for anniversaries, valentine's day and engagements.

My husband and I celebrated our 27th wedding anniversary this year. We met in college only weeks before I was diagnosed with cancer. He actually took care of me through surgeries, radiation, and chemo. To think we were only 19 at the time!
I can't express how much I love him. It was love at first sight. When I saw him from across a crowded dance floor, I thought "that is the man I'm going to marry."
We are very much in love, and tell one another several times a day. I practically count the minutes until he comes home from work. I just can't wait to be with him again.
I cook nearly every night. I have a cookbook collection so I can find new recipes for us to enjoy.
I'm actually not much of a dessert maker, but I do have this exceptional romantic cake recipe called The Surprise Cake. Let's just say that the frosting is made out of freshly whipped cream, and there is a secret to keeping the cream from sliding off of the cake. I think I have said enough. Let's just say, it's one romantic cake.

Hello to the Dessert World.
I am honored to be a part of your sweet dreamy desires. Dessert is the only way to finish a Romantic night. Whether it's a cholcolate eclair, dipped strawberries or each other with some whipped cream, dessert is the cherry on top. Remember, " A Good Marriage is like a new dessert recipe, only those responsible for it really know what goes in it" Thank you all for giving us your recipes for a Romantic Dessert. For some reason, when I think of romantic desserts, the first (and only! O_o) thing that comes into my mind is eclairs. They're great enough by themselves, but with some good tea/coffee, candlelight and soft music their effect will surely be amplified. 🙂

What a cute idea for a book! I'm thinking rich, dark chocolate tart with strawberries and whip cream on top.

Hope all's well with you.
