With all my complaining about what has happened to the balloon inflation event here in NYC, I think the universe heard me because I was rewarded yesterday with being able to attend a really fun Thanksgiving Day event.
A friend of mine invited me to attend a parade viewing party thrown by Kraft at the Red Eye Grill. The restaurant has a terrace that directly overlooks the parade route.
Dr. B and I wove our way through the crowds to get to the restaurant in time to watch the huge balloons float by. We had a lot of fun watching the parade while partaking in a fabulous breakfast spread.
And they were also serving this:
Which was the reason for the party. Kraft owns Kool-Aid and The Kool-Aid Man character was making it’s debut as a four story high ballon in the parade. So Kraft threw a party to celebrate the new balloon.

The cheer that went up in the restaurant when the Kool-Aid balloon passed by was great. In side was warm and cosy with lots of activities for the kids.
Outside I was applauding my favorites like Kermit and Snoopy,
I also cheered on Horton because my friend Barry was one of the “balloon wranglers” walking with the balloon, holing one of it’s ropes.

Glad you enjoyed your Thanksgiving. I went to the parade every year as a child. Your pictures are great, but I still find it so sad how low they fly the balloons nowadays. I know I was a child and therefore small, but I'm positive they were MUCH higher when I was a kid. Oh well. Still can't wait to bring my munchkin next year (he was too young this year). This looks like so much fun. We do not have much parade for any occassion in my country so I love seeing pictures of of them.

Oh, how fun! My Mom was saying we should of went down for the parade. I wouldn't mind watching it from somewhere cozy while I had breakfast!
